Oct. 9 & 10, 2006-Meteor Crater


We stayed 2 nights at Meteor Crater RV Park which is 40 miles east of Flagstaff, Arizona. With the force of a multi-megaton bomb, a speeding nickel-iron Meteorite crashed to earth nearly 50,000 years ago. Splashing over 175 million tons of rock, the resulting crater is 4150 feet in diameter, 550 feet deep and 2.4 miles in
circumference. Below are some pictures of the crater and some sunsets.

Oct 4, Gallup, New Mexico, Oct. 5-8 Albuquerque, N.M.


We stayed one night in Gallup, New Mexico before going onto Albuquerque for the balloon fiesta for 4 nights. One picture is the sunrise in Gallup and pictures at the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. Below is picture of the parking place. Sunsets at the balloon fiesta.

Oct. 1-3 Canyon de Chelly, Arizona


We stayed at a RV park in Canyon de Chelly for 3 nights. The park had no hook-ups but was free. Very nice park. We went sightseeing on the navajo reservation. Beautiful views on the south side and north side. Here are some photos we took there. Our site at the park.


White House Ruins- The Navajo tribe now maintains the ruins and offers guided tours of the areas.
Spider Rock Gigantic stone formations, 800 ft.


Canyon de Chelly is one of the world's most beautiful canyons with pictographs, cliff dwellings, Navajo farms, battle and massacre sights, cliffs nearly a thousand feet high and tapestries of incredible beauty.

Sept.27-30, 2006 Grand Canyon, Arizona


We stayed at Trailer Village in Grand Canyon National Park it is within walking distance of the canyon rim. The RV park was really nice. Picture of our site. The weather was in the 70's. They had a shuttle from the rv park that took you to the views of the canyon. Pictures of Grand Canyon. You can see the Colorado River and the bridge in the canyon. Septs. 12-26-Kingman, Arizona,Sedona, Arizona


We stayed 1 night in Kingman, Arizona and onto Sedona for 2 weeks. This is our site in Kingman, 97 degrees that day. Next day off to Sedona, Arizona for 2 weeks at Rancho Rv Park. Here are some pictures of the red rock area. One picture is Snoopy Rock lying down, Coffeepot Rock, Chimmey Rock, Cathedral Rock, reflected in Oak Creek, Bell Rock, Chapel of Holy Cross and Madonna & Child. We went on a Pink Jeep ride enjoying the different spots in Sedona. Sedona has a bug like a cricket called cicada which makes noises in the trees when it is hot. Below is a picture of one .
